WinPop 2.5
Winpop was developed for teaching and researching population genetics. The program contains 6 different modules: quantification of allele and genotype frequencies (two alleles in one locus), panmixia (autosomal and sex-linked), selection (general model and frequency dependent), genetic drift (with selection and/or mutation), mutation and gene flow. Each of these modules generates graphic representations of the different phenomena, while genetic drift is a real simulation.
WinPop is just a tool that makes the study of population genetics phenomena easier to understand. This help file, with few exceptions, has no theory explanations about the phenomena represented and simulated. A good population genetics book i s a valuable companion to WinPop.
Any doubts, comments and questions please send me a note.
WinPop was (and is) developed by Paulo Nuin in VB 6.0.
Thanks for using WinPop.
